Overview

The 2023 GMC Canyon is built on the same platform as the Chevrolet Colorado, also due to release soon. This time around, the Canyon is only available with one engine, a turbocharged 2.7L four-cylinder mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. 

This versatile truck will not be offered with numerous body styles for 2023, and will only be available as a short-box crew-cab pickup. However, the vehicle is guaranteed to be packed with more tech and safety features than before. 

Pricing

The pricing on this new workhorse has yet to be announced, but you can expect to pay around $70,000 for a fully fleshed-out Denali. The 2023 GMC Canyon will be available in four trim levels, the base Elevation, AT4, AT4X, and the flagship Denali. 

Exterior

The overall exterior design is a lot more cutting-edge this time around and is sure to redirect attention wherever you go. The front fascia features a reworked and updated take on the classic GMC split-headlight configuration. 

The lower portion where the main headlight is housed connects to the upper part through a near-seamless DLR configuration. As a result, the vehicle looks a lot more rugged than its cousin, the Colorado, but the two vehicles do still share a good deal in terms of aesthetics.

Interior

The interior is where this vehicle really comes into its own. Key features on the higher-spec models include an 11.3-inch infotainment centre with an 8-inch Driver Information setup. In the Denali, this Driver Information centre increases to 11.3 inches to match the other screen. 

In the Denali, you’ll also get a 6.3-inch multicolour diagonal head-up display, a deep black interior unique to this trim containing teak accents, leather-appointed perforated seating and open-pore laser-etched wood trim. 

Choose the Canyon AT4X, and you’ll be seated in an Obsidian Rush branded interior with ceramic white accents exclusive to this model.
