Notable Changes from the Previous Year
General Motors began to assemble the first models of the GMC Terrain 2024 last May. The 2024 version has a new and more powerful engine. There are also new exterior colours, and the GMC ProSafety Plus package is now standard for all models.
Infotainment and Technology Features
The entry-level model, SLE, comes with a 7-inch touchscreen display as standard, while the other trims have an 8-inch display. There’s a standard navigation system for the top-end Denali trim, while the other models have this feature as optional. There’s also a heads-up display available for all models but the SLE, while it’s standard for Denali.
Exterior Design
There are two new colours available: downpour metallic and riptide metallic. There are automatic headlamps, acoustic windshields for all models, and fog lamps for the SLT and higher trims. The Elevation Edition is available for the SLE and SLT, and it includes exterior features like a darkened front grille, black GMC centre caps, black roof side rails and exterior accents, and 19-inch gloss black aluminum wheels.
Interior Comfort and Cargo Space
All models seat five passengers comfortably, as it’s a very spacious vehicle. There’s 29.6 cu. ft. of space behind the back seats, but you can more than double your cargo space by folding those down if you want. All models can count on a dual-zone automatic air conditioning system, a driver’s information centre, heated front seats, and rearview auto-dimming mirrors. The flagship model comes with a Premium Bose sound system standard.
Engine and Performance Features
All trims feature a turbocharged 1.5L I4 LSD engine, which delivers 203 ft-lb of torque and 175 hp. The nine-speed automatic transmission is the only option for this lineup, and the 59L fuel tank provides a fuel economy of 10.1 L/100 km in the city and 8.4 L/100 km on the highways.
Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
The new generation Terrain has several standard safety features in the GMC ProSafety pack, including forward collision warnings, automatic emergency braking, lane keep and departure warnings, adaptive cruise control, front pedestrian braking, and more. All models are compatible with OnStar and GMC Connected Services, as well.
